Greetings from GRIP6 Belts!  

I’m BJ Minson, and I invented the GRIP6 Belt in 2013 when I was a student at the University of Utah.  I am Utah born and raised, and I love it here. We have the greatest outdoors and the greatest people in the world (in my humble opinion).  

I started GRIP6 Belts primarily because I wanted to modernize the belt and do it through modern American manufacturing.  I believe domestic manufacturing is critical to our economy; I wanted to show that it can still be done, and in my small way to support that infrastructure here in Utah.  

To that end, GRIP6 has been bringing in-house as much of our belt-making process as we can. We make our own buckles from raw American Aluminum; we grain, bend, cut, tumble, and laser etch our buckles, and melt, size, and cut our straps, all in-house. It’s difficult, but it’s slowly paying off.   Just last February, we moved to a 20,000 square foot facility in Midvale, a 4x increase from our last place, and we’ve already completely filled the space with new machines, many of them built or modified by our amazing team of GRIP6 engineers.
